About Unlimited Energy

Unlimited Energy began with a young man, Tommie Nellon, working on renewable energy projects beginning in 1978. After some time, Mr. Nellon’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and in 1984 he obtained a business license in Fresno for the installation of Solar electric and solar hot water systems. Working long hours, mostly out of his car, his reputation for being a skilled, conscientious, and hard worker grew. Word spread and customers from Los Angeles to Sacramento requested his services. Over time, the workload increased and people were added, many of them are still with us. Unlimited Energy has grown into a 12 million dollar company with the guiding principle that you always “treat people the way you would want to be treated”.

Why are we the # 1 Solar Contractor in the Valley?

• The largest number of residential installations in the San Joaquin Valley
• We’ve designed and installed some of the largest photovoltaic installations in California
• We are often called upon to design and build large system others have brokered.

Unlimited Energy has made a lot of “firsts” in the solar industry

• We were the first to:
• Install commercial, residential and agricultural roof top, grid-tied photovoltaic solar system in the San Joaquin Valley
• Install commercial roof top, thermal domestic hot water (DHW) solar system in Fresno
• Pull permits and install grid-tied solar in the Fresno, Kern, Kings and Merced Counties.

We were among several companies invited to take part in a year long project by the State of California to develop the new C-46 solar contractor’s test for the testing and licensing of new Solar Contractors in the state of California.

We hold the oldest active solar contractor’s license (C-46) in California's Central Valley. Our credentials include:

• Advanced solar training at ARCO Solar School in 1988
• Authorized dealer for ARCO, Kyocera, Sharp, Unisolar, Fronius, PV Powered, British Petroleum, and Shell Solar

• Active member of Cal-SEIA and the Renewable Energy Alliance
