Background
Double Decker Lanes is a 50 Lane State-of-the-Art Bowling Center located in Rohnert Park, California. Jim Decker III, the Owner of Double Decker Lanes and President of the Northern California Bowling Proprietor’s Association, had been exploring real solutions to help protect his Center from the rising costs of electricity. After much research, Jim decided a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System would provide the most practical solution.
After careful analysis of Double Decker Lanes’ electrical usage and available roof space, a roof-mounted 225 Kilowatt Grid- tied Photovoltaic System was developed. The System is connected to the existing Power Grid and directly offsets demand from the Grid, especially during peak daytime hours and summer months, when the cost of electricity is most expensive. Covering approximately 25,000 square feet, the 225 Kilowatt PV System at Double Decker Lanes is one of the largest in California. By installing the System, Double Decker Lanes was able to turn unused roof space into a valuable asset.
Not only will the roof mounted PV System produce electricity at retail rates, it will also provide additional insulation and protection from harmful UV rays, effectively prolonging the roof’s expected life for many years.
Unlimited Energy’s Role
The installation for Double Decker Lanes required the highest level of expertise in solar design. Unlimited Energy is one of only a handful of contractors in the State of California that had the experience and reputation to install such a large project. Unlimited Energy’s 22-year track record of delivering projects on-time and under budget made the project, by any measure, a success.
